I’m a consultant cardiologist at Salisbury District Hospital. I specialise in the management of atrial fibrillation (AF) and other disturbances of heart rhythm.
AF is the most common rhythm disturbance in the UK and is often characterised by palpitations, breathlessness on exertion and generalised fatigue.
My area of specific expertise is in catheter ablation of AF to stop these symptoms. I also perform ablation procedures targeting all other rhythm problems.
I implant simple pacemakers for patients with slow heart beats and when necessary more complex pacemakers for patients with heart failure.
My PhD thesis focused on the use of MRI to risk stratify patients with heart failure at risk of sudden death and the use of defibrillators to reduce this risk. I have authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications.
I live in Salisbury with my wife and four children.
