Dr Christopher Boos

Dr Boos has been a Consultant Cardiologist at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since September 2008. He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London in 1994. After undergraduate posts in London, he undertook his Cardiology training in the Wessex and West Midlands Deaneries respectively. He obtained his Research Doctorate (MD) 2007. Dr Boos is an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, a visiting research fellow at Bournemouth University and a visiting Professor at Leeds Beckett University.

Dr Boos is the Specialty Lead for Research and Innovation at Poole Hospital and retains a strong research interest. He has >120 publications in peer-reviewed journals and his current research interests include Cardiovascular risk, heart rate variability and the effects of high altitude on cardiac function.  He is the heart failure and pacing lead at Poole Hospital and his other clinical interests include complex device implantation, unexplained breathlessness, Sports Cardiology and atrial fibrillation.
He is an honorary visiting Professor at St George’s Medical School, Grenada, West Indies and the founder of the South Coast Heart Failure Meeting.
