Dr Russell Bull

About

Russell underwent initial general medical training at the Brompton Hospital followed by the Cleveland Clinic, USA. He subsequently trained in radiology in Cambridge, UK and was appointed as a consultant radiologist at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital in 2000. He set up one of the first cardiac CT services in the UK in 2003 and a cardiac MRI service in 2005. The Royal Bournemouth Hospital is now one of the largest 'general hospital' cardiac CT and MRI units in the country. He is responsible for training radiology and cardiology fellows and registrars. Russell has a major interest in the technical developments of CT and MRI and has been involved in developing software and hardware to make cardiac scanning easier, faster and more robust.

He is the immediate past Travelling Cardiac Professor of the Royal College of Radiologists/BSCI/BSCCT and a past president of the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging. Russell is the past Chair of the BCS imaging council responsible for coordinating the activities of the UK cardiac cross-sectional imaging societies (CT, MRI, echocardiography and cardiac nuclear medicine)
