Jonathan is a consultant interventional cardiologist based at Bournemouth Hospital, University Hospital Dorset. Alongside his clinical practice he has an interest in clinical research and is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Southampton.
Jonathan is experienced in all aspects of general cardiology and further specialised in coronary intervention (minimally invasive investigation and treatment of heart artery conditions) during a two year complex intervention fellowship. He is proficient at complex coronary intervention including all available calcium modification techniques and optimises the results for his patients through an in depth knowledge of intracoronary imaging and physiology. He is actively involved in research within the field keeping him abreast of contemporaneous practice and cutting edge technologies. He is also skilled at the clinical management of patients presenting with a broad range of cardiovascular symptoms and conditions.
Jonathan is focused on ensuring that patients are at the centre of the decision making process which means he communicates in a way that can be easily understood. He is dedicated to writing to his patients directly using non-medical language to allow patients to have an easily understood record of the consultation.
