About
Dr Critoph graduated from Southampton University in 2001, before training in Cardiology in London. He worked at the Heart Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the largest specialist cardiac centres of their kind in Europe, developing sub-specialty interests in heart failure, inherited cardiac disease and complex devices. In 2010 he was awarded his MD (Research) degree from University College London.
He undertook a year-long fellowship in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation at the Royal Perth Hospital, Australia, before working as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Barts Heart Centre, London. In 2015 he was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist and lead clinician for heart failure at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. He moved his young family to Dorset to take advantage of all the area has to offer.
He is experienced in caring for patients with all manner of general cardiology problems and provides outpatient consultations with access to a comprehensive range of non-invasive cardiac testing. He also provides catheter lab services, and is an expert in the implantation and follow-up of both simple and complex pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronisation devices. He prides himself on good communication with patients taking the time to listen, and explain what may be complex medical issues in plain English.
